TITLE:
DESCRIPTION: Prince Clemens Metternich (1773 1859), the newly-exiled Chancellor of Austria. He was one of the most important men in early nineteenth-century Europe and whilst in Hove he was visited by many of EnglandÕs elite. The present plaque replaces an earlier one of the same shape. It was the Regency SocietyÕs first plaque in Hove and was unveiled by the Austrian Ambassador in October 1952.
