One of the finest pieces of work by Eric Gill in Brighton. It honours DERYK CARVER (d. 1555)
A Fleming by birth, he is believed to have come to Brighton in about 1546.
He was burned at Lewes during the reign of Mary 1. The inscription was paid for by private subscription and unveiled in 1926,
