TITLE:
DESCRIPTION: At No.3,Percival Terrace a Brighton Corporation slate roundel honours SIR JAMES KNOWLES (18311908). An architect and writer, he founded the Metaphysical Society as well as the influential Nineteenth Century Magazine. He designed buildings in Hove (Princes' Hotel, now Council Offices in Grand Avenue, and much of the surrounding housing), as well as the Grosvenor House Hotel and laid out Leicester Square, in London.
